Does your organisation care about pet loss and the profound effect it has on grieving pet parents?
Would you like to help these heartbroken people, but don't have the time or resources?
You’re in the right place!
The Pet Loss Support Group provides a compassionate, non-judgemental and safe space for bereaved pet parents to find hope and healing on their pet loss journey.
Our group supports:
People experiencing pet loss, particularly those without an emotional support system of friends or family
Bereaved pet parents who don’t have access to or can’t afford therapy or counselling
According to the Journal of Social and Personal Relationships, joining a support group or seeking therapy has been shown to help reduce the effects of pet loss grief.
With over 80% of pet owners in the UK seeing their pets as family members (Source: University of Edinburgh), this really highlights the emotional bond and the profound impact of their loss.
Did you know that pet loss is a disenfranchised grief?
Sadly, this means it isn’t typically acknowledged, validated, or supported by society. That’s why it’s more important than ever for bereaved pet parents to have a community where they can grieve in a safe space with compassion and understanding from those who ‘get it’.
Working with partners who genuinely care about the well-being of grieving pet parents is everything.
Supporting grieving pet parents is very close to my heart.
After I lost Tilly, my 13-and-a-half-year-old Yorkshire Terrier, in February 2023, I was devastated. I didn't have an online support group to turn to. I was completely lost and had to navigate this painful journey alone.
It doesn't have to be this way for other grieving pet parents. The Pet Loss Support Group exists so no one has to experience this sad chapter on their own.
By sponsoring the group, you're helping us to provide these bereaved people with the safe space they need and deserve to heal.
Don't just take my word for it. Scroll through our testimonials to see the impact the group makes on the lives of heartbroken pet parents.
Our Impact on Grieving Pet Parents
“Words cannot express my gratitude for this wonderful group and I’m truly grateful I found it. It's so supportive, helpful, kind and compassionate. Sharing with and listening to like-minded people who really understand is so helpful. It’s helping me navigate this difficult time, and it means more than you'll ever know.”
Fiona lost Lucy, her Norwegian Forest cat, in January 2025
“This group is amazing! To anyone thinking of joining the group, I would say, definitely do it! Being part of the Pet Loss Support Group has changed my grief process. I joined the group because I wanted to know I wasn't the only one to lose a pet and feel lost. Before joining the group, I was nervous and heartbroken, but now I feel I am getting better and able to talk about Max happily.”
Alice lost Max, her German Shepherd, in March 2025
“The group has helped me come to terms with Bear's passing and given me comfort and support when I was at my absolute lowest point. In the early stages of my grief, it was very reassuring to know that this group was there for me. Also, knowing that there were people who understood what I was going through was a massive help. Now I feel much better than I thought I ever would or could after Bear passed. You'll be very glad you joined. Just hearing other people's stories and knowing you're not alone is so very helpful.”
Rich lost Bear, his Maine Coon cat, in August 2024
“I felt desperate and wondered how I could even survive without Holly by my side. The group is excellent. Reach out, as you will be welcomed with open arms. You will be heard, understood, and cared about. Everyone is in the same boat, everyone understands, and we can help each other cope.”
Teenie lost Holly, her English Springer Spaniel support dog, in August 2025
OUR SPONSOR
We’re so grateful for the incredible support of our sponsor. Their generosity makes it possible for the Pet Loss Support Group to continue growing and providing grieving pet parents with the safe space they need to heal.
Founded and led by Ben and his wonderful team, Final Rest offers compassionate home euthanasia services and a trusted pet crematorium.
Ben was the caring veterinarian who came to our home to help me say goodbye to Tilly. It was the hardest day of my life, but made easier with Ben’s kindness, patience, and compassion. I’ll forever be grateful that Tilly received the peaceful, loving, and dignified farewell she deserved.
Sadly, not every pet parent is as fortunate, which is why we’re here to provide that same vital care and support for others during their pet loss journey.
