A gentle space to feel seen and understood

After losing Tilly, I remember simply wanting to talk to someone who understood how I was feeling. I needed to know that I wasn't alone in missing my girl so much. I wanted to feel some relief from the pain, even if it was only for a little while.

That experience has shaped our online support sessions.

They’re a compassionate and safe space where you can talk openly about your grief and connect with other grieving pet parents who understand.

You don’t need to have the right words or know exactly what to say. Some people talk. Some people cry. Some people simply listen. It’s all welcome here.

Most people leave feeling a little lighter, less alone and more understood.

You might be wondering

"Will I have to talk?"

"What if I get emotional?"

"What if I don’t know what to say?"

"Will I be judged for how I feel?"

Whatever you're feeling, you're welcome here.
- a warm welcome -

From the moment you join, you'll be welcomed with kindness, compassion, and understanding

You don't have to explain why it hurts so much here.

We get it.

Because we've lived it.

"I found it comforting to be in an accepting environment where my grief was ‘ok’."

What actually happens in an online session

A gentle check-in

As everyone joins, we take a moment to settle in. We'll start with a simple emotional check-in where you can use the chat box to share how you're feeling.

A gentle structure designed to help everyone feel safe, seen, and supported.

A gentle check-in

As everyone joins, we take a moment to settle in. You'll be invited to share how you're feeling through our simple emotional check-in, helping everyone feel welcomed, understood, and supported from the very start.

Warm Welcome

Your space to share

Once everyone has joined, we go around the group and each person has time to share how they're feeling and what's on their heart. You can talk about your pet, your grief or whatever you need that day.

Your pet. Your grief. Your story.

Everyone has the opportunity to introduce themselves, share who they've lost, and talk about whatever is on their heart, whether that's guilt, loneliness, special memories, or simply how much they miss their beloved companion.

Sharing
1

People who get it

After everyone has had the opportunity to share, the conversation opens naturally to talk about all things pet loss. As people share their experiences, there's often a sense of relief in realising that others understand exactly how they're feeling & that they’re not alone in their grief.

Connecting

One small step forward

Before we finish, we reflect on one gentle thing we can do to support ourselves during the week ahead. Something small, meaningful, and manageable for wherever you are in your grief. There's no right or wrong answer. Just whatever feels comforting for you right now.

Gentle Closing

With people who get it

After everyone has had the opportunity to share, we open the room for a general discussion about all things pet loss, from loneliness and guilt to triggers and memories. You can share or simply listen, whatever feels right for you.

No pressure to speak. Ever.

One small step forward

We finish with a gentle reflection on one thing we can do to look after ourselves in the week ahead. There's no right or wrong answer, just whatever feels supportive and manageable for you.

Some people worry they won't know what to say. Once they realise they’re surrounded by others who get it and feel safe, heard and understood, they often find themselves sharing how they feel.
